The purpose of this “open call” is to explore the intersection between sound, landscape and architecture, which establishes a dialogue between the language of jazz and the concept of “concrete tenderness”, the theme of JAB this year, which proposes a reflection on a soft and temporary Conviuga life. The questions open tomorrow, March 19 and last until April 30th.
“This initiative represents another step in the municipal strategy of the technical and artistic qualification of the musicians of our county, providing them with international experiences who contribute to their growth and enhancement of the music scene of Aguedense”, said Edson Santos, vice -president of the artistic position as an artistic production such as the production of cultural position.
By providing spaces for experimentation and creation, these residences “strengthen the development of local artists, encourage collaborative practices and contribute to the consolidation of águeda as a pole of creative dynamism, as well as to improve artistic innovation, the circulation of ideas and the creation of new opportunities for artists”, said.
To this end, it has significantly contributed with the partnership of the City Council of águeda with various projects and individuals of different nationalities and professional contexts, such as the partnership, since 2018, associated with international cooperation with the JAB (Croaia), which combines contemporary, experimental and participatory local works, based on the reflection of the artists on the territory and on the partner, the specific local region.
Jab is an art festival that takes place on the island of Hvar (Croatia) every two years and is the climax of an international residence program, which are associated with invitations open to the international artistic community, by emerging and consolidated artists, in a crossing of artistic areas such as video, dance, performance, design, sound and architecture.
