The Chamber of Santa Maria da Feira recently approved the launch of the public offer for the rehabilitation of the Civic Center of Nogueira da Regouro, an investment scheduled for 1.8 million euros.

According to a press release, the work in question “will transform the” heart “of that parish, returning the public space to people, with more comfort, functionality and urban quality”.
With an intervention area of about 15 700 square meters, the contract will not correct the current imbalances of the central space and consolidate a new urban centrality based on a cohesive, green and convenient design. “
According to the Chamber, the intervention proposes the partial pedartization of Joaquim Domingos Maia Street, between the Mother Church and the chapel of the Lord of the Afflitti, creating a new central square, with green spaces, living areas, a small amphitheatto and safer routes of the pledges. The current Adro of the Church will be reorganized and evaluated as a space for meeting and life in the community.
At the level of mobility, all circulation will be redesigned, with new access, crosses and parking areas, including two new public parking lots, several parking spaces in the central area, as well as places intended for taxis and public transport. New tours, garden areas, equipment for restoration and support are also planned, such as urban furniture, adequate lighting and modern signature.
The redevelopment also includes the creation of a new roundabout, the reformulation of the roads and the redesign of the surrounding space for the cruise and the construction of the former parish council, giving them greater integration into the urban network. The renewal of public health structures and the creation of small squares and terraces, “which will help to simplify local trade and strengthens the attraction of the center of the village” is also noteworthy.
