By strengthening the collaboration with Deco, under the Consumer Support Office (GAC) of S. João da Madeira, created in 2020, the Municipality has signed a added to the protocol with this association, in view of the inclusion in the GAC of a housing and energy counter. The goal is to guarantee citizens the free support and advice in these topics, as well as the development of actions and projects that aim for information and the formation of consumers in this context.

This document was signed last Friday by the mayor of S. João da Madeira, Jorge Vultos Mesera and the president of Deco, Miguel Gomes, in a session that took place at the footwear museum, also with the participation of the councilor Irene Guimarães, head of the consumer support area in the carrier.
Following this formal act, support for citizens will be provided access to homes, leasing rights, condominium, purchase and sale, real estate mediation and contracts. As for the energy aspect, the information on invoices, energy efficiency and the acquisition of equipment, among other aspects, can be found in the new counter, which extend in view of the specificity of each of the consumers and their families.
For the mayor, Jorge Vultos Meassera, “This is another important progress to support the consumers of S. João da Madeira, an area in which the Municipality has paid particular attention to this 2020, the year in which he created the consumer support office, contributing to citizens to know and enforce their rights when they buy products or services”.
From April, the residential and energy meter meter will be included in the GAC of S. João da Madeira, with the availability of two face to face per month (previously monthly, a face to face and a virtual understanding) and four seminars on accommodation and energy, as well as 20 school sessions, 4 generals and involvement in the consumption week.
