North Arch transfer is about 47, 4 % of all the atoms exported by Brazil by 2024 | economy

The private ports of North Arch, which includes the northern and northeastern regions of the country, transported about 52.3 million tons of soy and export atom in 2024, according to the annual statistical book of the National Agency Agency (ANTAQ), in February this year. Data appears in the region in the flow of national agricultural production.

Among these total products, 18.4 million tons of atom were exported specifically, which represents 47.4 % of the national total, while the total soybeans reached 34.4 million tons, equivalent to 35.3 % of exports in the country. Traditional logistical contestants, such as Santos Port, which independent of 16.7 million tons of corn by 2024 (42 % of the national total) and 27.9 million tons of soybeans (28.3 %).

Despite the supportive result, the sector faced challenges last year, especially because of the severe drought that was recorded in the region, which greatly affected the movement. According to Flávio Acatauassú, President of the Ports Stations Association and the shipping stations in the Amazon Basin (Amport), the situation requires investments and planning to reduce the effects of climate axis.

“The shipment of the critical points of the Tapajós river, stipulated in the Ministry of National Transport (DNIT), will be necessary to ensure the continuity of mobility, especially during the drought period, when the flow of goods is affected,” explained Acatausú.

Future goals

For the coming years, the sector predicts the expansion of the ability to climb up. Currently, the Northern ARC ports have installed the capacity of 52 million tons, and will soon receive 48 million tons of loose, which will lead to the capacity of about 100 million tons of grain over the next five years.

In addition, the North Arch ports will have a new waterway in the Amazon area starting this year, according to the stations stations association and the amport. This innovation expects the start of commercial navigation and passengers on the Tokantin River. The State Secretariat for Environment and Sustainability (Semas) has released operating licenses (Lo) for TUCURUí ECLUSES, which will allow navigation on the Tocantins River between Foz and MAABá, in Pará.

Through the Ministry of Ports and Airports, the federal government is also estimated to allocate $ 1.7 billion of public investments in ports in 2025. The port of Santarim is among the main areas of the country for the flow of grains and fertilizers. In waterways, total investments are 946 million dollars in three businesses, including Pedral Do Lourenço.
