“Fuerteventura, Beautiful by Nature” has already rehabilitated 180 linear meters of vertical and horizontal masonry

Acosta Blas: “Its potential has improved as a tourist request that generates work and tractor of associated economies, as well as preserving and spreading Majoreras’ history and culture”

The “Fuerteventura, Beautiful by Nature” program of the Fuerteventura Cabildo is ending an extra section of Vulcanic Stone Wall in the Majorero Cheese Museum. The 180 linear meters of vertical and horizontal masonry initially foreseen in the performance ended, expanding the work now to a high wall of about ten meters that end the intervention.

The service of works and machinery, through its environment and territorial and environmental planning (GESPLAN), has developed an exhaustive rehabilitation and maintenance work in the environment of the Majorero Cheese and the old Mulino Museum. “Its potential has improved as a tourist affirmation that generates work and tractor of associated economies, in addition to preserving and disseminating the history and culture of the major”, explains the vice -president and consultant of works and machinery, acostic Blas.

The crews returned to the Cheese Museum to rehabilitate a wall of about two meters and about ten meters long that was not contemplated in the original project. It is built with traditional masonry techniques and volcanic stones, the same techniques and materials are now used for rehabilitation. It should be noted that to guarantee a faithful result to the original structure in this type of work, the operators have been trained in traditional masonry techniques.

Before this intervention on the wall, the crews had undertaken works, cleaning and improvements in the museum environment and in its emblematic cactus garden, as well as rehabilitating different walls of dry stone and cobbled roads (over 180 linear meters of stone walls rehabilitated or built).

This performance in the Majorero cheese museum allows the cultural, ethnographic and traditional undisputed value of its museum in an equally important and illustrative structure of the ADOSINCRASY of Fuerteventura and Majoros.
