The UD Las Palmas received recognition from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Ulpgc) for its 75th anniversary, with the concession of the medal of the academic institution, which also satisfies its 35th anniversary.

We receive it with pride and with the responsibility that the recognition of such a fundamental institution entails for the development of our society”. “This distinction not only honors us, but strengthens our belief that football, beyond competition and the show, is a powerful tool for social transformation,” he added.

“Today, this recognition is not only for the UD Las Palmas as a sports club, but also for our foundation, which works day after day with the commitment to bring the sport values ​​beyond the playing field,” said Ramírez, who also had words on the project for disappointment: “He is one of our integration problems.

As for the delivery of scholarships, Ramírez has said that “if there is something that unites us here today, in this act, it is the importance of education and knowledge. Therefore, I want to highlight the delivery of the scholarships of the UD Las Palmas Foundation to several students of the University. We firmly believe that sport and education must go by hand that our commitment must commit in a solid way. Solids.

The rector of the ULPGC, Lluís Serra, highlighted the importance of strengthening the alliance between the University and the Club, “an institution with over 75 years of history and the club of the largest social mass in the Canary Islands”. In the same way, he made a special reference to the social actions that already, at the moment, unite both entities. “The synergies between the two institutions have been transformed into shares in which the service to the company, to which we must ourselves, is a fact. Collaboration agreement

In 2022, the Ulpgc and the foundation of the Aud Las Palmas signed a framework collaboration agreement, to create joint action and action programs and collaborate for the development and dissemination of education and culture between the two institutions, as well as promoting higher education and scientific and technological research.

In this framework, the specific agreement was born that tackles one of the most important social initiatives that unites both institutions: the Dysaphío scholarships, promoted by the UD Las Palmas Foundation together with the deputy rectum of the students, who reward those university students who present the best end -of -graduation works (TFG) or the end of the master (TFM) who are found in differences relating to disability.

These five awarded students were recognized during the Medal Ceremony at the Las Palmas Sports Union:

-Laura Márquez del Nero, of the degree in industrial engineering and product development, by the TFG “design of inclusive educational materials for people with visual disabilities”.

-Lenena Galván Sánchez, a degree in work reports and human resources, by the TFG disability, an added value in the workplace. A bibliographic revision. “

-Blanca Aránzazu Simón Montelongo, of the Degree in Engineering of industrial design and product development, by “TFG habits improvement actions for a person in a wheelchair”.
