The distinguished “signed” researcher from the University

The ruling council has approved support of 254,576 euros to finance the appointment of investigating employees for the “Andres Laguna” program from the University of Salama. The proposal chosen by researcher Renata Bertzi Levy, from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), who will develop a study on the relationship between the consumption of very treated food and harmful health results.

The regional research and innovation strategy of smart specialization (RIS3) is considering at Castilla Y León 2021-2027 among its goals in strengthening the environmental system for community research and innovation, especially by employing high-impact researchers. In this context, the Ministry of Education has held expressions of interest to integrate researchers from the recognized international status, from foreign research and development centers, to public universities in Castilla Y León or the Supreme Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) in society.

The approved grant, with an amount of 254,576 euros, will cover the expenditures derived from employment from January 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026. The proposal chosen by the University of Salama is entitled to: “A study on the effects of the work of superior microscopic foods.

This study aims to assess the current analytical evidence about the link between exposure to high -treated foods, according to the classification of the NOVA system and the harmful health effects.

Dr. Renata Bertzi Levy is a senior scientific researcher in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo and also a researcher linked to the epidemiological research center in nutrition and health (NUPENS) at the same university. His experience focuses on the field of collective health, with special care for food consumption, food surveys, the food environment and sustainability. In addition, she is a consultant to graduate studies programs in nutrition, general health and preventive medicine, whether at the level of masters or doctorate.
