Dismantling of an international criminal organization with the presence of Salamanca

Dismantling a criminal organization specializing in tobacco smuggling with international ties within the European Union. The operation led the Spanish and Portuguese authorities, and its coordination.

The operation witnessed the participation of the National Police and Civil Guard agents of Salamca, the deputy of customs monitoring amendment (Tax Agency), and the financial unit for the financial work of the Republican National Guard.

After a 18 -month investigation, a record of 56 properties was recorded simultaneously, in Salamka, Zamora and Madrid, in Spain, Space, Cital, Avero, Leria and Portaligri, in Portuguese territory.

These records have completed the arrest of 9 members of the regulation of various nationalities, the seizure of more than 6.5 tons of tobacco, 77,000 cigarettes, 18 vehicles, and abundant tobacco and electronic materials such as computers and mobile phones.

The detainees are accused of smuggling crimes, who belong to the criminal organization, laundering money, falsify documents and fraud against the public treasury.

Running method

The method of making a very and very effective criminal network has been organized, and trucks that were used to transport the tobacco paper purchased in Italy and once in Spain, the manipulation process: chopped, drying, packaging and preparing for distribution has been performed.

The distribution was made, with rented trucks, towards Portugal, and through correspondence companies to customers throughout Spain. This system, very mobile and flexibility, joined that the storage ships were only operating during the time necessary for actors, and giving up them within two to three days.

The criminal network had an important infrastructure and operational capacity, with real estate in provinces such as Salamaca, Zamora, Burgos, Al -Awald, Madrid, Guadalajara and Esija, as well as real estate in Portugal and France.
