Five men of Pelinheim Palace, north of Oxford (UK) stormed after a party and took a toilet. Not … Any toilet. It was made of 18 carats of gold, at a value of six million euros, and was considered an artwork, signed by Maurizio Katilan, Italy. The title “américa”, entitled “américa”, was installed at Winston Churchill’s house, and visitors were allowed to use it.
When the guests left to install the exhibition, at 4.50 am, the men were shocked at the doors of the building, that the world heritage by UNESCO entered the floors and the huge, and Dorado began a period and took it in the VW Golf box.
Everything lasted three minutes and security measures were not sufficient. Since then, September 2019, this rare jewel has not been seen again. The English police said that the sculpture was melted and raw materials were sold by weight, without restoring a gram of gold out of a total of 98 kilograms.
The price on the black market reached 30,000 euros per kilo in the following days. The sale could have been closed, although it was just an assumption shown in the trial of last week, in about three million euros.
At the crime scene, a cabin where the piece was, DNA researchers found one of the tools used to start, which relate to the ordinary suspect, James Shen.
The usual suspect
With “insufficient evidence” to prevent him until last year, Shane, a citizen of Oxford, was sentenced to 40 years old and was arrested because of his flight to steal them and recognize their crime, and last week, three of its partners, Michael Jones, Farid Du, and Bora Gokuk were sentenced. The first and third were condemned, innocent.
The other three participants in the research (five) are still loose. Like Shin, Jones faces several years in prison (the penalty has not been fixed yet). 39 years old and employee Shane, Jones was registered by security cameras the day before the toilet images at Blaneheim Palace. The other was condemned in the trial, Doe, as a stolen gold seller. Or at least try.
Although its effect cannot be followed, or perhaps because there were no signs, the Times Valley police were sure that the toilet mastery took place in several places, after cutting it. On one of the seized mobile phones, they found a picture of more than half a million pounds in cash, which would have paid a Birmingham jeweler.
Somehow, the sentence last week was the end of this first exhibition for Cattelaan in the United Kingdom, and a group, headed by Shin, which committed robbery.
