Josep Borrell, the former European Union representative for Foreign Affairs, will receive the eighteenth European Prize, Carlos V, granted by the European Foundation of Eos and Iberro. The event will be held in the Monastery of Youst on May 9, on the occasion of Europe, as usual will be King Felipe VI, as confirmed on Thursday by the Minister of Presidency, Interior and Social Dialogue, Abel Botista.
Borrell was the vice -president of the European Commission and the High Representative of Foreign and Security Policy from 2019 to 2024 and the European Parliament Speaker from 2004 to 2007. Botista said: “His leadership was decisive in times of crisis such as war in Ukraine.”
