I spent years jumping in beach clubs across Mexico – Boho barefoot vibrations from the Pacific coast to chic and whitened beaches on the Maya Riviera. And while Punta Mita de Nayarit, the community closed along the northern coast of Banderas Bay, can be a little rich for my blood, I cannot deny that its beach clubs are absolutely high.
For the sophisticated traveler who wants to drop their hair (or just sip something refrigerated under a palapa), Punta Mita book. These clubs are not only places to relax – they are experiences. But which one corresponds to your personal atmosphere?
Here is the guide of your initiate on the five Punta Mita beach clubs – and how to know which one suits you.
Kupuri Beach Club
Best for: Active and luxury families by the sea
Kupuri Beach Club consists in raising the family day of the beach. Overlooking the white sand of the Baie de Litibu, this is where the families of Punta Mita gather – whether for lazy Palapa lunches or adventures of water full of action. Reserved for members of the first club and their guests or tenants, Kupuri is both polite and fun.
There is everything: a shallow paddling pool and Coritas Kids’ Club for the little ones, a clubhouse for air-conditioned adolescents with games and activities and the Spa Navi for those who want to book for a massage after the beach time.
Ocean lovers will find their happiness with paddleboarding, sailing and diving with snorkel. But I love the Kuuri Beach Club for its dreamy white sandy beach and its magnificent view. It also houses Hector’s Kitchen, one of the most famous restaurants along the Riviera Nayarit. If you are ready for madness, book a reservation for dinner here. For something a little more relaxed, the Kupuri restaurant strikes the place.
Pacifico Beach Club
Best for: traditionalists and sunset faithful
If Kupuri is the energetic young brother, Peaceful is the elegant elder. It was the original Punta Mita beach club, and it still occupies a special place in the hearts of longtime residents. Overlooking the emblematic tail of the ocean hole whale of the Pacifico golf course and the blue Pacific, it has a nostalgic and classic feeling – and unbeatable sunsets.
There are two swimming pools (one reserved for adults, one for families), a towel and beach flesh service, a restaurant and a full -service bar, as well as a children’s play area nestled in a shaded garden. The SPA on site offers massages, facials and mani-rays. It is polite without being picky, and if you stay late enough, the atmosphere goes from lunch by the sea to dinner lit by mood.
Dinner here is a must – in particular the capture of the day served on coconut rice and tuna tos. Combine this with a glass (or several) of Angel whispers, which seems to be the resident pink brand of all Punta Mita beach clubs.
Ceiling Oceanic Club
Best for: Gourmets concerned with design
Ceiling Oceanic Club is the most recent of Punta Mita beach enclaves, and probably the most elegant. Perched along a calm section of Banderas Bay, and anchored by a salt water swimming pool that is refreshed daily, this is the kind of place where you come for a quiet lunch and end up staying all day.
Located in Porta Fortuna – one of the most coveted communities of the peninsula – Soufi is all about elegance barefoot: think of the beds of Bali with white and vigorous sheets and, of course, generous quantities of rosé. Beach Access is granted via the Punta Mita pier, and the club offers two separate catering experiences: the casual snack hut and the high -end Soufi restaurant, known for its smart mexiterranean menu.
Sea Breeze Beach Club
Best for: Daytime Beach Reads or Sunset Nights Date
Sea Breeze Beach ClubLocated in St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, is a mixture of five -star services and relaxed beach vibrations. Although technically available for members of the Punta Mita club thanks to an annual agreement, it remains one of the most favorite escapes in the peninsula – and a favorite among the hotel customers.
The wide sandy beach is supported by a sparkling swimming pool and ultra-comfortable lounge chairs. The butlers are never far away, ready with towels, snacks or this second cycle of drinks. Dinner here is a range of light bites with pizzas, steaks, ceviche and empanadas. The neighboring Mita Mary serves everything, ravioli of crab steamed with the tuna of the Pacific served with chipotle and beet sauce.
The club is a place where you can come with a beach reading and a concealment, or dress it for the appointment evening. The two feel at home. Whatever you do, stay for sunset when the Smolde sky in succulent roses and purple.
Surf Club
Better For: Wave Riders and The Boho Chic
If the rest of Punta Mita leans polite, Surf Club Keep things deliciously defeated. Located above the legendary Lancha surfing break, this club looks like Montauk by Riviera Nayarit. Everything is driftwood, palms, woven hammocks and this Kid Cool light.
I’m going to be honest – El Surf Club is my favorite. I love everything: the elegant atmosphere of barefoot surfing, perfectly framed sunshine views, homes and the variety of cold living room spaces. It is a Punta Mita beach club for sure, but designed for a crowd that can feel just as comfortable in a backpacker bar in San Pancho.
The atmosphere is “Surf Shack Sophisticate”, with a menu that corresponds: think of oysters, ceviche, tacos and capture of the day. Drinks? Beers frozen by the bucket, Mezcal cocktails and, of course, this omnipresent rosé.
