The Civil Guard dismantled a group dedicated to stealing sheep. Six residents of Badajuz are accused of offering 134 heads of sheep cattle from the exploits of Badajuz, Villar del Rey, Albrekkk and Barkarota, as well as the municipality of Cácereño de Cañaveral, and no participation has been determined in other facts.
The operation, called “Saxum AIVIUM”, began last year, when an increase in the theft of livestock was discovered on livestock farms in the Badajoz area. Given the suspicion that stolen sheep can move and tag on nearby farms, inspections on farms and attached communication methods have been intensified.

At the end of last year, many cars that were transported in the seven trunk of sheep and licks stolen in the capital’s operations were intercepted. It is assumed that vehicle occupants have gained in a neighborhood, so an investigation has been opened that allowed six individuals from the same family group, all of whom are Badajuz neighbors.
The method of operation was as follows: While the workers or the farmer were responsible for, the group broke the arrival locks, and carried and transported the animals that were put on their farms that camouflage them with others, to sell it later to third parties.
After this investigation, with the cooperation of the veterinary office in the Badajuz area, inspections were carried out on two suspects’ livestock farms. The latter was last March, where among other animals is 262 heads of sheep, some of them related to the reported theft and OTAS, which could not prove their ability to track and property. The animals are frozen in a precautionary manner.
The Civil Guard is conducting research efforts for the alleged participation of this group in other similar procedures.
