In a complete discussion on public or private universities after the government announced a plan to limit the establishment of new centers, we analyze coexistence between these two higher educational centers in Salamanca. The argument of the executive authority, above all, focuses on the low quality of the new private centers that have appeared in the past six years. This is not the case of the papal university, which was founded in 1940 and is much less than the University of Salanka, which was formed in the thirteenth century.
The reality of Salamanca to the national panorama is not extracted as there was an important expansion until reaching 41 centers of the active university 41 compared to 50 of the public network. However, students are concentrated in the public, where 78 % of university students are registered, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, in the 2023-24 session. In the case of Salamanca, USAAL hosts 83 % of registrants.
In the 2022-2023 session, the last update by the Ministry of Education, the University of Salamaka reached 26,032 registered; While the papal university recorded 4416 students. The difference in the display of both marksin is one of the factors that explain this difference: compared to 21 Uviersies from the Private University of Salama, the audience offers 70 degrees of all branches of knowledge.

From students, they joined the Pap for the University of Salamanca 25 years ago
So far, this coexistence was not always balanced because some of the degrees taught at the private university have not been found in the public. However, the balance in the past twenty years has not been positively positive for both. In the 1998-1999 course, the Pontifical University had 43 % of university students. For its part, USAL was 25 % more registered than in this season more than the 2022-2023 cycle. However, a recent analysis of Lab4FUTERE and Wuolah places Usal in the top 10 universities where students repeat their studies by 86.4 %
Thus, according to the data collected by “Education Numbers in Spain” in the Ministry of Education, in the past five years, the Babylonian University of Salanka does not exceed 4,500 registered. This is one of the requirements included in the decree reform in new universities: which is at least 4,500 students in the first five years of exercise.
Another of the requirements that will be within the reform of the 2021 decree related to teachers and grades. As for teachers, both universities have been exposed to differences over the years. Salamca Pap for the number of students with a declining development of both categories. Usal, on the other hand, records more discriminatory fluctuations.
As for these requirements included in the decree reform, in addition to the number of registration, universities must give certificates in three branches of knowledge. In the case of the University of Salamanca, it has a five educational branches while the papal university is compatible with three.
