The railway road will not only reduce travel time and costs, but will also strengthen the industrial and economic activities of the region.
Technical challenges and solutions
Given the inaccessible geographic conditions of the Himalayan region and the complex geopolitical structure, state techniques -le -art were used in the final location (FLS) survey of the project. The survey prepared the high digital electoral model (DEM) using the 50 cm resolution imaging of the American World View satellite.
FLS work was assigned to Iit-Rorkee, which was led by the director of the Institute. A committee of three international experts was also created for this project
- Mr. Ravindra (former president of the railway council) – specialist in railways
- Dr. J. Golshar (Jioconsult, Austria) – Tunnel specialist
- Dr VK Raina – Pont specialist
Large cities will obtain advantages
This railway route will connect major cities like Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Gauchar and Karnprayag, which will provide better connectivity to the inhabitants of these areas and strengthen regional development. The ROSHIKESH-KARNPRAYAG railway project will not only simplify the religious visit of Uttarakhand, but it will also strengthen the state’s economic spine.
