AMMAN – The growing complaints of work subject to the Ministry of Labor through the “Protection” platform have raised questions on the effectiveness of the procedures used to resolve them, in particular with regard to the rapid decision and the protection of complainants.
The reports indicate that the platform is faced with challenges related to access to workers, in particular due to the linguistic barriers and complex recording methods.
Experts from the Labor Sector highlighted the importance of strengthening the secrecy of complaints to ensure the protection of the complainants’ identity of any exposure to employers.
On the other hand, experts highlighted the role of unions following complaints and ensuring that violations against workers are approached.
For his part, the media spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, Mohamed Al -zoud, said that the designated electronic protection platform to receive complaints of all kinds of work.
He added that the secret chosen from the complainant means that the complaint will be treated confidentially by inspectors, in particular in cases related to the delay in wages, their non-payment and the lack of standard with minimum wages, the internal system and professional security and health.
He stressed that in these complaints, the inspector does not need to reveal the name of the complainant in all cases if the latter chooses to be a secret complaint.

For his part, the director of the Phoenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies, Ahmed Awad, said that the secrecy of complaints that workers submit to the Ministry of Labor through his electronic platforms are a very important problem, in particular in the light of work violations that some workers are exposed.
Awad added that these violations include the non-delivery of wages in their time, the lack of membership of the minimum wage, or discrimination in them, or not registering workers of the Social Security Company, or to calculate the salary subject to guarantee with less than the real law contained, stressing that these practices constitute an explicit violation of the law on the laboratory and the law on social security.
