Usal provides equality plan, valid until 2029

University President Juan Manuel Corcuchu presented an equality plan at the University of Salanka, a strategic document aimed at putting the institution positively in terms of gender equality from improving management and using the potential and talent of women and men who are part of it. During the presentation, the Director of the Equality Unit was accompanied by Sánchez Barrios y Alexría Alonso, on behalf of the unions, the university president.

The Usal Equality Plan is depicted as a strategic tool to integrate effective equality between women and men at the University of Salama and assume another step in the institution’s commitment in this field. Usal was the first to carry an equal unit in its laws and is the only university for Spain in which the unit members were chosen by the university, with wide jobs.

The new text, which will be valid for four years (2025-2029), determines the accuracy of the procedure for developing procedures, final dates, responsible persons, monitoring and evaluation indicators, and the necessary resources depending on the capabilities of the organization.

Likewise, it emerges due to its willingness, as it affects all USAL policies and areas, mainly those that relate to people, human resources, knowledge management, communication policy, etc.; And transparency, by ensuring the right to information about the contents of the plan and achieving their goals, for people working at the University of Salama.

In this sense, the President of the University also shed light on his participatory nature, because in his position the entire organization intervened, from the government team to other people who delegate him, and employees through the most representative unions and a high percentage of employees by collecting individual information about their position in facing equality and determining the priority or improvement areas in this matter.

The extension of the USAL Equality Plan will include all university employees (students are not included), without prejudice to the creation of special procedures in those specific departments that require this.

Equality plan defines seven principles: equal treatment between men and women, indirect and indirect discrimination due to sex, sexual harassment, sexual harassment probation due to sex, compensation against revenge, transparency of rewards and reviews in sexual policies.
