Wednesday, His Majesty King Abdullah II confirmed today that the resumption by Israel of his attacks against Gaza is a very dangerous step which adds more destruction to the current deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
His Majesty, in joint press statements with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palais d’Elysee in Paris, called on the international community to move immediately in order to restore the ceasefire to Gaza and to implement all its stages.
His Majesty stressed that the continuation of Israeli attacks and the prevention of the entry of aid, water and electricity in Gaza are climbing stages that threaten the lives of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip which live a difficult reality, pointing to the need for an immediate call to participate in the aid.
His Majesty expressed his appreciation of France’s support for the Gaza reconstruction plan concluded by the extraordinary Arabic summit in Egypt, which aims to provide an effective framework to preserve the rights of the Palestinian people without displacement.
His Majesty said that his meeting with President Macron is in the context of continuous coordination in recent months to work to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, highlighting Jordan’s passion to strengthen strategic partnership with France.
His Majesty underlined the efforts made by Jordan to provide assistance to the inhabitants of Gaza on the ground and air, noting that the medical evacuation of patients and patients with the Gaza strip began treatment in Jordan.
His Majesty thanked France for its role in work with Jordan to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, in particular thanks to air landings.
His Majesty stressed that the displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza threatens to expand the conflict and increase instability in the region, calling for the endowment of dangerous climbing in the West Bank, which caused the movement of more than 40,000 Palestinians this year.
His Majesty reiterated the need for an immediate endowment of attacks against the Islamic and Christian Holy Sites in Jerusalem, stressing that the continuation of the attacks against the Palestinians and their properties and the violations of international law undermines the chances of achieving peace.
His Majesty added that the political solution leading to peace on the basis of a two -state solution is the only way to ensure the security of the Palestinians, Israelis and the whole region, appreciating the active and pivotal role of France and Europe in this regard.
Speaking of Syria, His Majesty stressed that Jordan wanted to see Syria stable and united, highlighting the support of the Kingdom to the efforts of Syria to preserve its security, its stability and its territorial integrity and protect its citizens.
His Majesty stressed that Syria needed urgent international support for its reconstruction efforts and to create the appropriate and lasting conditions for the return of voluntary and safe refugees.
In turn, the French president declared in press statements that the French and Europeans are ready to contribute to the Gaza reconstruction plan presented by the Arab leaders.
He said: “We will discuss the plan tomorrow at the European Council and this time to develop a political approach to this case,” he said.
President Macron stressed that the plan offers a reliable framework, security guarantees and new governments, and this work would help improve the cease-fire.
He stressed that the submission of proposals to a sure future for the peoples of the region requires political courage, and this is what His Majesty represents day after day during this difficult period.
He said: “Israeli and Palestinian leaders must also do it, and we have to support them in this, because the opposite is extremism that will push peoples to new suffering contracts and repeat tragedy,” he said.
Speaking of the Palestinian question, the French president said that there were part of the Abrahamic agreements, which is the Palestinian State which will finally make the Palestinians their legitimate rights in order to delete any argument to exploit the Palestinian question by those who only want to prolong their control.
“This must be done with guarantees for Israeli security, and it is important that all the countries of the region participate,” he added.
President Macron said we’re working hard to stop the shooting in Gaza, stressing that the resumption of Israeli bombings despite the mediators’ efforts is a spectacular setback for the Palestinians in Gaza, and they are again under the bombing.
With regard to bilateral relations, the French president stressed that political and security cooperation with Jordan is more necessary than ever, in the light of current regional developments, stressing France’s commitment and position with Jordan and the Jordanians in the light of these challenges.
He declared that the recent signature of the strategic partnership between the European Union and Jordan testifies to the close relations and the confidence that France enjoys in its friendship and its partnership with the Kingdom.
President Macron said that His Majesty’s visit offers the opportunity to work to improve bilateral cooperation in the military, economic, humanitarian and development fields.
He welcomed Jordan’s commitment to his efforts to peace and stability, whether by providing treatment to two injured children in Gaza on his land, or through his role in the discussion of the Syrian issue, or in the efforts to combat terrorism by the initiative of Aqaba meetings.
After the joint statements, His Majesty and President Macron had bilateral talks followed by a vast friendship that treated strong friendships that bring Jordan and France, and means to improve them.
Discussions have also dealt with regional developments and efforts of the two countries to reach peace and stability in the Middle East.
